The M.A.I.S.L. Joint Risk Management Trust provides school district educational insurance programs and risk management services. Our member districts control their own destiny over insurance issues by:
The M.A.I.S.L. Joint Risk Management Trust is a property-liability risk sharing pool operating by authority of Michigan Public Act 138 of 1982. This program was founded in 1988 in response to problems K-12 school districts were having obtaining property-liability insurance at a reasonable cost. Aside from coverages originating provided through the Trust’s loss fund, the Trust members also use their group purchasing power to obtain favorable coverage for boiler and machinery and school board legal liability exposures and foreign legal liability. The Trust operates with a board structure that assures that each district has a voice in the operation of the Trust. Each district has a vote on key issues. Through participation on the Trust’s five loss control committees, representatives of member districts are able to develop strategies to reduce exposures to loss and deal with emerging issues. As a result, the Trust remains sensitive to the needs of its members and provides a high level of service. |
